REMEMBER PARIS?

Remember Paris? 2017

Repeated mass bleaching of coral reefs around the globe due to climate change is having catastrophic effects.  Tragically, vast tracts of the Great Barrier Reef, which was the largest living structure on our planet and full of life, energy and dazzling colour, are now bleached or dead.  Scientists observe that half of the reef's coral has been killed during the last few years by repeated mass bleaching.  And yet the Australian government continues to support the fossil fuel industry in spite of signing up to the historical 2015 Paris Agreement.

Some corals are able to recover but only if we act quickly to reduce the threats we impose.  We have to have hope and do what we can to preserve the remaining corals.  The alternative is that this national treasure will fade into a distant memory.
